Special Luncheon Speaker: Dan Leiner, Reg. Mgr. Cal/OSHA Consultation
Topic: Cal/OSHA Changes for the Millennium

This program is intended to provide instruction on the new Cal/OSHA and FED/OSHA recordkeeping standard that became effective January 1, 2002. This is an excellent program for new as well as experienced safety & health safety coordinators, safety professionals, human resource
managers and employees who want to improve their safety and health awareness and knowledge in the important area of injury and illness record keeping.

Starting January 1, 2002, you must use OSHA 300, 300-A, and 301 forms, or equivalent forms, for recordable injuries and illnesses. The OSHA 300 form is called the Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses, the 300-A is the Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses, and the OSHA 301 form is called the Injury and Illness Incident Report.

In the transition from the former rule to the present rule, OSHA intends for employers to make a clean break with the former system. The new rule will replace the old rule on the effective date of the new rule, and OSHA will discontinue the use of all previous forms, interpretations and guidance on that date. Employers will be required to prepare a summary of the OSHA Form 200 for the year 2001 and to certify and post it in the same manner and for the same time (one month) as they have in the past.

Participants will gain the following knowledge:
Introduction to OSHA, and Cal/OSHA Authority
Publication of the Standard and changes since first implemented
Which employers are affected by the requirements
What the new forms mean
How to fill out the forms
Penalties for non-compliance
"Privacy Concern" injuries or illnesses Issues
