Your supervisors and managers will learn how to conduct effective investigations including investigating the accident, review the facts to find the cause, implementing corrective actions, documenting findings and actions, and follow-up. The following outline covers the program's contents: overview of program; review of past accidents and the history for their locations; a review of an excellent safety video on how to properly investigate accidents; review of investigation techniques; review of implementing corrective; review of the proper documenting, findings, and actions needed for corrective action; and written test.

Aerial Lift Operators Certification

Our Aerial Lift Operator's Certification training program is a proven method of providing your company with the means to meet the OSHA requirements for the certification of Aerial Lift operators.

This program has been successfully used by many companies to certify their employee's abilities and skills in the safe handling of aerial lifts.

CAL/OSHA has established the requirement for training aerial lift operators that they be trained and qualified for safe operation. All operators of aerial lifts, and other motorized lifts must be formally trained in safe operating practices and should be certified as trained. Length of class: 3 to 4 hours depending on class size. Each participant will receive a Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of the class.

The following outline covers the program's contents: overview of program; review of safe operations of aerial lifts; review of OSHA regulations for aerial lifts; safety video on safe practices; review of operating rules; review of maintenance practices aerial lifts; operator's inspection checklist; written test; and operating demonstration/test.

TRAINING CLASS OPTION

For operators who have limited experience, we can provide a training class which include all of the above plus an additional 4 hours of driving time to insure that they become a competent operators.

Alcohol and Drug Prevention

The intent of this program is to outline how to implement an effective employee Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program. The program will assist management with the tools to develop a drug free work environment by maintaining a strong and effective program. A Drug and Alcohol free workplace will help ensure that all employees are healthy and fit for work, thereby strengthening the existing safety program.

Back Injury Prevention

This program has been developed to provide you with the information needed to help prevent the possibility of employee back injuries. The program has been designed to meet requirements of OSHA as well as reinforce company policy on the prevention of back injuries. (OSHA feels that all employees are potentially exposed to a back injury, thus it is one of the required training's for all employees.)

In today's work environment, back injuries account for nearly 20% of all injuries. But the cost of these injuries accounts for nearly 60% of all Workers Compensation insurance costs. These costs are paid by your employer in the charges for their Workers Compensation Insurance cost.

A formal back injury prevention program should be established with all supervisors and employees being trained in proper lifting techniques. As the key to the success of this program is to train the employee to the job specific tasks, our services can be tailored to meet this objective.

Blood borne Pathogens

CAL/OSHA requires that those employees assigned to be emergency responders (First Aid and C.P.R.) and those who work in the healthcare industry be trained to deal with the potential exposure to Blood borne Pathogens and body fluids. In addition, an employer is required to have a written exposure control program. This training provides employees the required information and importance of using universal precautions and the use of personal protective equipment.

This program can be tailored to any employee exposure group including: health care workers; emergency responders; and industry workers. The program is designed to meet the requirements of the OSHA regulations and their written Exposure Control requirements.

Cal/OSHA Regulations

This class has been developed to assist supervisors and managers in understanding the need for the company's compliance with the OSHA regulations. Contrary to the belief of many, Cal/OSHA is still out there and actively enforcing their regulatory requirements.

One of the most important items discussed are the recent changes made to the Cal/OSHA under AB1127 (Assembly Bill). The regulations changed dramatically in the size of fines, imprisonment of supervisors or managers, and fines now being levied on municipalities. Also included is a specific presentation on the "Supervisor's" responsibility for safety.

A review of various Cal/OSHA regulations applicable to the students operations will be discussed in order for them to become intimately familiar with the requirements. Also, the requirements of Sec. 3203 will be reviewed as a key element of every company's program that must be implemented and maintained.

This portion of the program explains to the participant what is expected of them along with an overview of the course.

II. REVIEW OF BASIC SAFE DRIVING PRINCIPLES:
This section of the program explains the importance that is placed in each employee's understanding of defensive driving principles and what it means to the company, i.e. prevention of losses and liability. The concept that each driver is a professional and that they are responsible for maintaining safe driving habits is also stressed.

III. DEFENSIVE DRIVING SAFETY VISUALS:
Safety visuals on defensive driving principals is shown which demonstrates many of the proper safe driving methods which will be discussed in the next section of the program. The skills that are demonstrated reinforce the basic defensive driving principals and rules of the road. Included are the "Smith System" safe driving concepts and principals, as well as others from the National Safety Council.

IV. REVIEW OF DEFENSIVE DRIVING PRINCIPALS:
Following the film, a review of driving skills is made which includes a table top demonstration and use of a student workbook. Actual driving situations are reviewed then discussed with the students to evaluate their understanding of driving defensively. The importance of each driver's participation and compliance with the company rules is stressed as is the company's responsibility to enforce them.

V. WRITTEN TEST:
A formal written exam is provided to document the participants understanding of defensive driving principals discussed in the program. The test is based on the information provided in the class so there will be no surprises.

VI. DRIVING RODEO: (3 - 4 HOURS)
This is where the fun starts and the tires meet the road. Our driver=s safety rodeo challenges the best to be able to perform their stuff, and show the less accomplished were they need to improve. By using various techniques of simulated driving conditions, each participant can appreciate the key to safe driving.
We commonly setup a road course of: diminishing clearance, plus while backing; stops, stars, and turns; reverse course direction and backing; unloading situations; limit line test; and others. Each category is graded and reviewed with the drivers for corrective actions where needed.
